The AACD Monograph
Solution for Reliable Metal-Free Restorations
Advances in CAD/CAM technology have resulted in zericonia-based ass-ceramic materials that offer
exceptional strength, fracture toughness, and biocompatibility. The CAD/CAM process provides immediate data
capture and accurate fit, and it enables the laboratory technician to focus primarily on aestetics.
Cercon® Zirconia restorations offer dental professionals a high strength,
predictable material for their patients' benefit.

Preparation for an anterior crown is preformed with a coarse diamond bur; facial reduction of
0.8 mm to 1.5 mm must be achieved.

Preparation of the posterior all-ceramic crown requires at least 0.8 mm to 1.5 mm of reduction on
the buccal and lingual aspects.

For a multiunit anterior Cercon® Zirconia bridge (Dentsply Ceramco,
York, PA), at least 0.8 mm to 1.5 mm of reduction should be performed facially and lingually.

Multiunit anterior Cercon® Zirconia bridges (Dentsply Ceramco,
York, PA) in the anterior and posterior require a taper of at least 3 degrees.

The clinician can utilize a chamfer margin design when preparing abutment teeth for the all-ceramic bridge.
|

For the anterior all-ceramic crown, lingual reduction of .8 mm to 1.5 mm must be performed with a
football-shaped bur.

Posterior Cercon® Zirconia crowns (Dentsply Ceramco, York, PA)
require reduction of at least 1.5 mm from the deepest occlusal pit.

The multiunit anterior bridge should also have at least 1.5 mm of occlusal and incisal reduction,
and it should have rounded internal line angles.

Posterior bridgework for Cercon® Zirconia (Dentsply Ceramco,
York, PA) also require at least 0.8 mm to 1.5 mm of buccal and lingual reduction.

A shoulder margin design can also be used to prepare abutment teeth for the all-ceramic briddge
(Dentsply Ceramco, York, PA) .
